Teletraffic Modeling for Personal Communications Services

Lam, D. and Cox, D. and Widom, J. (1996) Teletraffic Modeling for Personal Communications Services. Technical Report. Stanford InfoLab. (Publication Note: IEEE Communications, volume 35 number 2, Feb 1997)

This paper presents a realistic teletraffc modeling framework for Personal Communications Services. The framework captures complex human behaviors and has been v alidated through analysis of actual call and mobility data. Using the proposed framework, a large-scale simulation was performed on a model of the San F rancisco Bay Area. Simulation results showing the performance of IS-41 are presented.
