CourseCloud: Summarizing and Refining Keyword Searches over Structured Data

Abstract

In this demo, we show data clouds (i.e., tag clouds over structured data) to summarize the results of keyword searches over structured data. Data clouds provide insight into the database contents, hints for query modification and refinement and can lead to serendipitous discoveries of diverse results. In this demo paper: (a) we summarize the main issues for generating data clouds (b) we give an overview of our framework for keyword searching with summaries (clouds) (c) we describe our system CourseCloud that allows searching for courses and their evaluation.
